Quarry Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 19, 2026
In short: Quarry does not collect, store or share any of your data. The developer runs no servers and the app has no analytics, tracking or advertising. Your connections and passwords stay on your devices and in your own iCloud account.
Who we are
Quarry is a SQL client for iPhone and iPad, developed by sWare ApS, Denmark (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how the app handles information. It applies to the Quarry app only.
Information we collect
None. Quarry contains no analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites, and has no account system. We never receive your connection details, passwords, queries or database contents.
Your database connections
Quarry connects directly from your device to the database servers (and, if you set one up, the SSH server) that you configure. Queries and results go only between your device and those servers, never through us. Encrypted connections (TLS) are the default for new connections, and SSH host keys are always verified. The servers you connect to are run by you or your organization, and their own policies apply to the data on them.
Data stored on your device
- Saved connections (name, host, port, user name, database, TLS and SSH settings, and similar non-secret fields) are stored in the app’s storage on your device.
- Passwords and SSH private keys are stored only in the iOS Keychain. They are never written anywhere else and never logged. SSH key passphrases are never stored.
- Query history is stored only on the device where you ran the query. It is never synced or sent anywhere, and you can clear it for each connection.
- App settings (for example appearance and sync preferences) are stored locally on the device.
iCloud sync
If you use iCloud sync, your saved connections are synced between your devices through your private iCloud database, using Apple’s CloudKit. By default, passwords and SSH keys are synced through iCloud Keychain, which is end-to-end encrypted. You can turn off syncing of passwords and SSH keys in Quarry’s Settings, and remove them from iCloud there. Passwords and keys are never stored in CloudKit.
This data belongs to your Apple Account and is handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy. We cannot read your private iCloud data. If you are not signed in to iCloud, everything stays on the device.
Purchases
Quarry Pro subscriptions and purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details or personal information; the app only checks with the App Store whether Quarry Pro is active.
Information Apple may share with us
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device’s settings, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. These do not identify you. You can change this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Children
Quarry is a developer tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You control all data Quarry stores: delete connections or clear history in the app, manage iCloud data in your device’s iCloud settings, or delete the app to remove its local data. If you live in the EU/EEA, you keep your rights under the GDPR, and you may contact us or your local data protection authority with any concern.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, for example because a feature is added that handles data differently, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
